The Village is a state-of-the-art, full-service recording complex housed in a Masonic Temple in West Los Angeles built in the roaring twenties. The building has undergone a complete redesign by Vincent van Haaff with a new lobby, updated rooms and new wiring throughout. Nineteen-time Grammy®-winning engineer Al Schmitt was brought in as consultant for the renovation period, resulting in re-tuning of the control rooms and the purchase of a classic 72 channel Neve 8048 in Studio A and the purchase of our new Neve 88R in Studio D. The new Studio F is a 5.1 Protools HD surround room.
With an aura of mystery and power all its own, the newly overhauled and completely renovated building has state of the art studios which offer sound and character that are second to none. Founded in 1968 by visionary Geordie Hormel, The Village is celebrating over 35 years as one of the premier recording facilities in the world.
