The new Fantastic Four movie is out, and it’s the first major motion picture to be mixed on our brand new Avid S6 control surface, recently installed in Studio F. Scored by Phillip Glass, the mix was done here at The Village by legendary British engineer John Kurlander. Kurlander is probably best known for his engineering and mixing work on Lord Of The Rings: “Fellowship Of The Ring”, “The Two Towers” and “Return Of The King”. He took home three consecutive Grammys for Best Score Soundtrack Album, and 3 consecutive TEC Awards for Best Film Sound Production. Not a bad captain for the S6’s motion picture maiden voyage, as it were. It was quite a treat getting to watch Kurlander work his magic on the S6, and we can’t wait to see what he comes in with next!
